Topic: The Power of Inside Sight

Title: The Power of the mind

Pastor Ishola continued his series, The Power of Inside Sight, and began to focus on the Mind. Throughout opening section of his sermon, Pastor Ishola focused on how the mind has the ability to step into the unseen realm, project a potential future, and create a pathway into that future. Pastor then follows on saying that God has made the mind help us determine an outcome and if a person has failed in their minds then it is only a matter of time before they fail in their lives. However, if the person stays on success and accomplishing in their minds then their life will begin align to what has been settled in the mind.

By reading Hebrew 12:1-2, Pastor Ishola make the point that when we are certain of what the future holds for us in Christ, it makes the discomfort and uncertainty of the present more bearable as you know that the outcome is in your favour. Discouragement is often used by Satan and is when the mind can’t figure out a way forward. Satan tries to use discouragement as a way to try to build resentment towards God. That resentment can make the Word very difficult to believe and fizzle out all the faith that has been built up over the years.

Pastor Ishola then read 1 Samuel 30:1-8. Throughout those verses, Pastor brought into focus how even though David had lost the battle, he didn’t fall into discouragement and resentment towards God. Instead, he not only encouraged himself in the Lord and his mind, he also asked the right questions and he sought and listened to God’s command. David didn’t treat God like an emergency button. He had a relationship with God and as a result his mind was settled with God.
