Day 22: Restoring the Laws of God as the Laws of our Lives!

2 Kings 22:8,11,13: 8. And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. 11. And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes. 13. Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.

Acts 2:42: And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

2 Timothy 4:3: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Genesis 18:19: For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

For God to begin to glorify himself “again”; we must go back to how things are supposed to be “again”.

It starts off by aligning with God on his laws and teachings being the FINAL authority for how we ought to live, or to consider if we may have accepted a more circular perspective to life, which has evolved with time and society.

Prayer Points:

1. Oh Lord, I accept your laws, your words, your teachings, as the FINAL authority over my life. Even if I wasn’t raised to know this, or if I was but have drifted into a more circular perspective of living; I repent today and accept your words as the standard to align my life to.
2. Oh Lord, give me the desire to study and meditate on your words daily.
3. Oh Lord, help me to retrace my steps, and to review the philosophy that underpins each area of my life. I receive grace to re-align, and make the necessary adjustments IJN.
4. Oh Lord, give me a heart and an ear for sound doctrine. Help me to resist the temptation to drift into circularism, or the deception that God’s word is outdated and irrelevant for this time.
5. Like Abraham, help me to raise my children according to your word. Let my life be the example they follow. I receive the wisdom and strength to enforce God’s word as the authority over my home IJMN.
